'Nanas are the cat's pyjamas! I love love love bananas, anytime of day. They are fun to look at, fun to peel, fun to hold, and fun to eat! They are super squishy too, great for smooshing on your clothes and shoving between the couch cushions. A perfect food from nature, and not just for monkeys...though Dad always calls me a little monkey. Hmmm. Anyway, I say if you're feeling blue, ask someone to get you a 'nana, and sit back, relax, and enjoy!

comfy shoes are best
I hear people talk about "walking a mile" in someone's shoes to feel what they feel. As someone who looooves to try on and walk in other people's shoes, I have this advice: choose the sweaty ones. You can really get to know a person by hopping into their sneakers, fresh from a long walk, and taking them for a spin. You can also learn skills like balance, teetering, and recovering from a fall. Maybe my fascination with shoes is the reason I will always bring yours to you and say "goodbye!" when you're visiting, even if you've just arrived!Friday, June 8, 2012
kiss your shadow
Yesterday I discovered my shadow! Mama showed it to me while we were splashing around the lake near our house. At first I couldn't figure out what she was pointing at, then whoa! So amazing. My shadow did everything I did. I ran after her, trying to kiss her, and jump over her. She is super fast. Even Mom and Daddy have shadows! They don't run and jump as much as mine does, I guess because they are old and slow. I wanted my shadow to come and see my bedroom when we got home, but I guess she had already gone to bed somewhere because I couldn't find her. I will definitely be looking to kiss her again tomorrow!

shout it out
Mostly I hear adults shouting when they're upset, like when I get too close to the road or the Blue Jays are losing. Me, I shout when I'm happy. It just feels good to shout! Early morning ... late at night ... when I see a kitty ... when I put on my new shoes ... when I climb something I'm not supposed to ... when someone offers me apple juice. I don't really mind if you are sleeping, but you should really come and see what I am doing!

you don't need tea for a party
Dora the Explorer came to my tea party yesterday. So did bear, buttercup, piggie and pup. We had such a good time, I refilled their cups hundreds of times, they just loved the tea I made. There were even a couple of balloons Mom stuck on the wall with this cool thing called tape - I got it all balled up and stuck to my hands but wanted to keep touching it anyway, sooo sticky!
Adults should know that for a good party, you just need good friends and good hats. We laughed, drank a lot of tea and sang the Elmo song, and even Mom joined in (she loves my tea too) but for only for a bit because dishes don't wash themselves!

ice cream tastes better in a cone
I bet you love ice cream. Do you still get it in a cone? You should! The girl at the counter gave me a tiny spoon to try it before I decided. Mom thought about calories and Dad didn't want a sticky mess in the new car, but me, I was just happy that it was sunny and warm and my dress was fun and I had an ice cream cone.
always use the kermit spoon
Food is so amazing. The colours, the shapes, the tastes. When I eat, I forget about everything else, except maybe my awesome kermit spoon. I bite, I chew, I smile. I ask for more if it's really good. I pick up broccoli and really look at it, have you ever really looked at it. It's like a tree, a bright green, mini tree. Awesome! Rice is amazing too, and that brown sauce, soy? Delicious. Mom says not too much, too much sodium, but I don't really hear her because it is so so so good. Dad always gives me more. Next time you eat, try to be quiet. Look at your food, and chew it, and really taste it. Yum!
